Rennes vs Toulouse by Lucien

After two consecutive victories and climb on the table, Rennes failed to build up on those performances and suffered firstly defeat away to PSG which was completely expected, but then made a setback in a home match against Angers as well, taking only a point in a 1:1 draw even though the players of Rennes had all the chances to walk away as complete winners.

They took the lead after initiative, in 21st minute with a goal from Sio, while the guests stood playing with a man less in 58th minute when Thomas got excluded. Players of Rennes looked satisfied and didn't try to hard, paying the price in the end when Angers leveled up the result eight minutes before the full time with a gaol from Pepe and didn't leave them enough time to respond. After this setback, Rennes is at sixth position with just a point less than fourth placed side Lyon and needs to get the victory here badly in order to stay in the battle for European spots.

Rennes should be playing in 4-4-2 formation with Sio and Gourcuff in attack. Midfielder Clement Chantome (1/0) is injured, as well as central defender Mexer (8/0) and left midfielder Wesley Said (9/2).

Toulouse, on the other side, entered pretty ugly period right now, as the team has no victory in last four matches, coming from two draws and two defeats. In the most recent game played, they suffered a bit unexpected 1:2 home defeat against Metz last weekend, proving that they are far away from a positive form.

Their visitors were more concrete and did what was needed to take the double lead with goals from Jouffre and Mandjeck at the start of the second halftime, while hosts increased tempo from that moment on and were dominant, however without being too efficient - still managing to reduce the deficit towards the end of the game, in fifth minute of additional time via Edouard. Visitors from Toulouse will be playing in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation with Braithwaite as central striker, plus Durmaz, Toivoinen and Sylla as offensive midfielders. Right back Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro is closing to full fitness but the game comes to soon for him, while doubtful remain central defender Issa Diop (12/0), right back Steeve Yago (11/0) and offensive midfielder Oscar Trejo (10/1).

  • Rennes are undefeated in their last 7 home matches (Ligue 1).

Both teams are in need of points, but Rennes still seems to be in a better momentum. With the help of their fans, they should be able to get closer to the victory against a side that traditionally plays poorly on the road - now being completely in less than average form, I don't see plenty of chances for them. Draw can't be fully excluded, but I don't see the visiting team actually walking away with something here.

Think this is great tip. But I would go for BTTS since both teams have scored in the three latest meetings. Odds for BTTS on bet365 is 1.95. Very valuable in my opinion!

Not so sure about this one folks. Game has a certain aura of X2 double chance about it .
