Reading vs Bristol City by Shibby
Championship again for me today with an action packed fixture list. The first game I've seen will be played at the Madejski Stadium and will kick off at 15:00. The game will be played between Reading and Bristol City.
The Royals seem to have picked up momentum of late and find themselves in 3rd in the table, Jaap Stam has worked wonders in my opinion as they don't have an amazing squad of players, however, they work well as a team and have been really hard to break down lately. Let's be honest, if Jaap Stam was my manager I'd be doing everything possible to stay on his good side, he's an absolute unit!
Reading head into this game on the back of 4 straight victories in the league. These 4 victories have all been to nil. They've beat Rotherham United 1-0 in a game where they didn't really deserve to if I'm being honest. I was at the game and we played the better football throughout the 90 minutes, however, didn't get the luck we needed and a goal from substitute McShane in the 86th minute secured all 3 points for Reading.
Since that game they seem to have reached another level, claiming victories over Forest 2-0, Wigan 3-0 and Burton 3-0. I know none of these teams are world beaters, however, to get the job done is all that is required, Stam seems to have them in a winning mood.
The visitors for the game have slipped off he pace a little lately, Bristol City started the season well and found themselves near the top. However, a poor run of results has seen them slip to 10th in the table. Their last 6 games has seen them get just one victory vs Blackburn, a draw vs Barnsley and then 4 defeats (Cardiff, QPR, Brighton and Birmingham).
I think that with their form being quite poor, they will find it difficult to break down a solid Reading side, I expect Reading to push on knowing that a win here could keep the pressure on Brighton and Newcastle.
I think that Reading offer great value here today and I'll be backing a Reading win at a price of 2.50 with Betvictor. Good Luck all.
