RB Leipzig vs Braunschweig by Gustav
RB Leipzig had a nice preparation period for the re-start of the season, getting three consecutive victories and the team now enters the second part with improved morale, but also knowing that they are huge favorites to get the so much wanted promotion to Bundesliga this season.
Currently, they stand at first position, having three points more than second placed Freiburg and maybe more important, the team has points more than third placed Freibug that will be going into the play-off rounds and a game less played then both of them. Game against Braunschweig comes as a perfect chance to boost their morale even further and make a great step into the second part of the season. As said, they did well during friendlies, since the team won over Swiss' sides St Gallen 3:1, Thun 3:1 and then demolished Teplice in the last friendly played with 5:0 score. It seems that everything works perfectly well in their club and that hardly anyone will be able to stop them on their way to Bundesliga. Defender Halstenberg (14/2) and forward Boyd (0/0) are out for this game.
Braunschweig, on the other side, currently stands quite high, at sixth position having four poitns less than third placed Nurnberg and no doubt that the team wants to chase the promotion this season, this way or another.
With eight victories, five draws and six defeats they were far from impressive so far, but in case the team improves they still have a chance to getting into the promotional race till the end of the season. On the other hand, they reached the 1/8 finals of German Cup, but got eliminated after extra-time away to Stuttgart, something that surely boosted their morale after all. Away from home they did well so far with four victories, two draws and three defeats, but the side will surely be happy here with a point taken, knowing that they will be playing against the best 2.Bundesliga side so far. Defender Correia (12/0) is sidelined for this one.
RB Leipzig looks rock solid individually and with the help of their fans they should be able to get an easy victory here. Easier than the current odds suggest.
