Raufoss vs Kongsvinger by 20Legend
Raufoss extended their horrible statistics in the meeting with 4th placed Sandnes Ulf (3-0) last weekend. Even though it was expected that they would lose, it seems like the whole team has been giving up for several rounds now. The team is not good enough for this league as they players do not manage either defensively or offensively. 5-3-18 and 18 points in 26 games means that they are relegated already, but it has been a fact almost the entire season with the way they have performed. It is 11 points up to the nearest safe place and it is not possible for Raufoss to make it with only four games left. Sandnes Ulf set the tone right from the start and was 2-0 up after just 15 minutes. The game then stabilized itself as it was all up to Sandnes Ulf how the rest of the game should be. The league’s top scorer Pontus Engblom made his second goal of the game right after kickoff in the second half which sealed the win.
It was not a great atmosphere in the dressing room after Kongsvinger’s loss against Levanger (1-2) at home last weekend. Kongsvinger was a bit shocked from the beginning in the first minutes with Levanger putting on a high pressure. Both teams each created a big chance inside the first 10 minutes, but it was Levanger that looked sharpest. However, Kongsvinger got the first goal after 19 minutes after Nieves picked up a header from Mame Niang and converted the pass into a goal. The rest of the half did not give the biggest of chances before Levanger got a penalty after 43 minutes. Jo Sondre Aas made it 1-1 and it was also the score at halftime.
Kongsvinger started the same poor way in the second half as they did in the first one. Their passes were inaccurate and they seemed tired. They created a chance after 55 minutes, but it was not a success with Adem Güven finished just over the bar after a perfect cross came his way. It was Levanger that had most success when they attacked and they got rewarded after 72 minutes. A bad clearance from Kongsvinger’s defenders made it an easy task for Jo Sondre Aas to make his second goal this evening. Kongsvinger tried to respond by change their tactics into 3-4-3 in the last quarter, but it was not enough as Levanger managed to handle the pressure that Kongsvinger put on in the dying minutes. That leaves Kongsvinger in 5th place with 42 points, but it is only three points up to 4th placed Sandnes Ulf. However, it is also only one point down and out of top 6, which makes focus a keyword in the remaining four games. Midfielder Harald Holter (25/1) suspended together with defender Kirill Suslov (23/2).
The task before this game is very simple as Kongsvinger must win these kinds of games if top 6 is their goal this season. Raufoss is the weakest team by far right now and the odds suggest the same. I expect Kongsvinger to strike back after their bad experience against Levanger and Raufoss’ defensive line should be a perfect occasion for doing just that.
