Raufoss vs Jerv by 20Legend
Raufoss has experienced a much tougher level in OBOS-Ligaen as expected after getting promoted from 2nd Division last season. After a decent start with several goals scored, things have normalized as Raufoss has gone further down on the table. 2-3-6 has given them nine points in 11 games, which leaves only Fredrikstad (8 pts) and rock bottom Ull/Kisa (7 pts) behind them at the table. Raufoss has 0-2-4 from their last six games and they have been struggling a lot against the best teams in the league.
After they got a very lucky point against Mjondalen (1-1) two weeks ago, things went back to normal as Hodd (1-0) became too strong last weekend. It was a match that involved few chances as both teams have been struggling this season. Raufoss was not outplayed in anyway during this match, but they have not been able to produce that many chances in their recent games. Their goal against Mjondalen came on their second chance in 90 minutes, while they did not get through Hodd’s defense enough times to be dangerous. Raufoss’ striker Rocky Lekaj has been decent so far with four goals, but he has also struggled as the oppositions level has raised.
Jerv was the sensation of last season as they almost won the qualification for Tippeligaen. A lot of things have happened since then both in terms of coach and players. They lost their successful coach Steinar Pedersen to Start and replaced him with Arne Sandsto. Jerv also lost their top scorer Ohi Omijuanfo to Stabaek, which left them a bit shorter upfront. Sandsto has brought another philosophy to the team compared to what Pedersen had. Jerv has become a more entertaining team with focus on playing along the ground and it is only fair that it takes some time to get used to. Jerv has got 4-4-3 which gives them 16 points and a 8th place on the table.
Things have been looking better in their past games with 2-2-0 to show for from the last five games. The team is not an easy team to bring down which has led to a lot of close games with them involved. Their last game against Fredrikstad (1-0) was no exception with Jerv scoring the only goal. They clearly dominated the first half and took the lead after 31 minutes, but a dramatic turnaround occurred after 39 minutes. Their second top scorer Dennis Antwi got his second yellow card, which meant that Jerv had to finish the second half with 10 men. Fredrikstad took over the second half and produced several chances to score, but luckily for Jerv, Fredrikstad one of the struggling team in OBOS-Ligaen.
It is three important players missing tonight as top scorer Tony Brochman (11/4) and defender Glenn Andersen (11/0), are suspended due to yellow cards, while striker Dennis Antwi (10/3) is suspended after his red card.
This is an important match for Raufoss as they have the chance to win with all the missing that Jerv has here. However, Jerv still has a more experienced team so they should not be left out tonight. I think of an open match with these two teams involved and over 2.5 goals seem to be the best option.
