PSG vs Lille by Lucien
PSG didn't have that easy game against Marseille away from home last weekend, but still managed to pull out a 1:2 victory and improve their chances of winning the title once again. They were better during the game, controlled it and took the lead in second minute via Ibrahimovic already, while the hosts replied in 25th via Cabella. Hosts had their own amount of chances and maybe deserved something in the second half as well, but the guests were those who were more efficient one.
Di Maria sealed the victory in 71st minute, while their defense stood well from that moment on. They now count sixteen consecutive victories in all competitions and the atmosphere can't be at much better level since the team remains first in the league - with huge twenty-four points difference already, they are already recognized as new champions of France. PSG should be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Maria, Cavani and Augustin as strikers. Their coach Laurent Blanc will probably rotate the squad before their game against Chelsea in Champions League. Thiago Silva, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lucas, Maxwell are probably gonna be rested here. Doubtful for this game are Gregory Van der Wiel, Marco Verratti and Javier Pastore, but will hardly be rested in case the result goes into their favor.
Lille, on the other side, improved their form a little in previous few weeks, but the team still remains far from a reliable one. They are now on a run of three undefeated matches in Ligue 1, four overall in all competitions, as the team comes from a 1:1 draw at home against Rennes last weekend. They were better during the most of the game and took the lead in 42nd minute with a goal from Eder, however once they stood playing with a man less when Boufal (forward) got second yellow card, the team was forced to switch to a more defensive game plan and they finally conceded the equalizer in 89th minute from a penalty kick.
Overall, they deseved something more out of the match, but it's another one where the players of Lille failed to be more concrete in attack and clean up the game before it's end. With this point, they remain at fifteenth position, but having only four points more than relegating placed Montpellier - none in the club can be happy with such standings after twenty five rounds played. Guests should also be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Lopes, Benzia and Bautheac as their forwards. Visitors will be missing central defender Marko Basa (8/0), goalkeeper Mike Maignan (4/0), forward Eder (2/1) who are injured, while suspended is offensive midfielder Sofiane Boufal (20/6), since he picked two yellow cards against Rennes.
Even if they rotate squad for this one, there is no doubt that the Parisians will want to enter this game very strongly and seal the victory well before the final whistle. I believe they will manage to take the three pointer and go into the Champions League match with improved morale.
