PSG vs Chelsea by Luke
PSG rested a lot of players in their previous game last Saturday evening when the team hosted Lille, so it wasn't surprise after all that the team only managed to get a goalless draw in the end. Even with a rotated squad, they were way better than the players of Lille, but weren't that concrete in the final effort since they missed their key star players.
However, none will be disappointed with such an outcome, since the side already looks like a new old champion in France, while their further targets are with Champions League and finally getting the right results in the best European competition. They are already twenty-four points above second placed Monaco and simply nothing can stop them towards another title. As for this match, Parisians should be playing in quite offensive 4-3-3 formation with Ibrahimovic in the middle of attack and Maria and Moura next to him. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lucas Moura, Angel Di Maria, Marco Verratti and Thiago Silva are expected to be here from the first minute after being rested during weekend. Right back Serge Aurier (22/3) is suspended by the club.
Chelsea, on the other side, is having a season far below their expectations, but still managed to progress to the knock out stage of Champions League and this competition now represents one of rare chances for the team to boost their confidence and bring some joy to their fans after all.
As for Premier League, the Blues are currently standing at 12th position, eight points away from fifth placed and Manchester United that currently sits at Europe League exiting ticket. However, they come from really morale boosting performance last weekend when they crushed Newcastle with a 5:1 victory (goals were scored by Costa, Willian, Traore and twice by Pedro, showing an excellent final touch. Chelsea will probably start the match in 4-2-3-1 formation with Costa as number nine and Willian, Oscar and Hazard as his attacking support. Striker Falcao (9/1) and defensive Kurt Zouma (23/1) are both sidelined with injuries, same as their captain John Terry (21/1) who suffered a knock against Newcastle. Midfielder Nemanja Matic (25/5) is suspended.
French side will try to take advantage of their home court and they are favorites to do so, however I see the players of Chelsea being completely competitive as well. Parisians are close to get a victory, but the English side knows that they can't just wait at the back and have to respond in an attacking manner, so I believe chasing goals here is the right choice.
