Pro Vercelli vs Brescia by Enzo
Pro Vercelli continues with their dreadful form, as the team goes into this game after yet another defeat this time away from home against Latina last weekend. It was their fifth consecutive defeat in Serie B and what's more worrying, fifth consecutive match without a single goal scored. No wonder the team dropped down to the relegation zone now, being at 19th position with only twenty-four points earned. That's five more than rock bottom placed Como, but also only two less than safely placed Ascoli.
Their game against Latina last weekend was yet another very passive performance from the whole team, much more passive than they should have been, since neither the players of Latina looked like the ones who really knew what to do with the ball to their feet. In a game where both teams looked how to preserve the net more, hosts managed to get all three points thanks to a goal from Acosty in 61st minute, while the visiting side did almost nothing in offense in order to respond. They have now two consecutive defeats in front of own crowd and no doubt that everyone wants to respond with a better performance, but it seems so unlikely looking at their current form. Central defender Mattia Bani (20/0) is suspended for this one. Striker Nunzio Di Roberto (24/1) went back to Crotone, while midfielder Kelvin Matute (13/0) also isn't part of the team anymore.
Brescia, on the other side, also gone downtrend in their form, but luckily for them, the question is only with their two latest performances when the team suffered defeats awayt from home against Salernitana (quite convincing one) 3:0, and at home against struggling Livorno 1:3 last weekend. Quality of both opponents are questionable, so that's the main reason for worry in their locker room.
However, major fact in their defeat at home against Livorno played a part of player's exclusion in 59th minute when Martinelli (their defensive midfielder) had to leave the field and everything went even further worse for the hosts. Despite that, they had more of the ball possession and looked more lively, however paid the price of defensive mistakes and a player excluded. In a game where not much things could have gone more wrong, they stood playing with another man less, during the additional time when right back Racine got his second yellow card. Visitors will be without midfielder Martinelli (21/0) and left back Coly (21/0) who are suspended, while midfielder Ismail H'Maidat got sold to Roma. Striker Alex Geijo (20/10) won't perform here.
Niether of the teams are in a really great shape at the moment, but the hosts are in far bigger problems. No doubt that Brescia has plenty of more quality and I can't see them slipping for the third game in a row despite missing few important players, while these odds look almost generous to me.
