Arsenal vs Southampton by Shibby
Barclays Premier League action for me tomorrow (02/02/2015) the game will be between 3rd placed Arsenal and 8th placed Southampton. The game will be played at the Emirates and will kick off at 19:45. The first games of the Premier League in February and this is generally a month where things start to take shape in the Premier League.
Arsenal have started the season well and have maintained their form through to February however, they have now slipped from top to third in a short space of time. Arsenal are known for flopping at this time of season. They have a tough run in the next few weeks and this will make or break their season in my opinion. The transfer window closes tonight, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has spoken to the media recently stating that he is 99% sure that Arsenal won't be in the market for any more players (unless Messi becomes available).
Wemger seems to have settle things lately and I think he is not willing to disrupt his team. Wenger should have Sanchez in his starting XI for the game as he made his return vs from the bench in the 1-0 defeat against London rivals Chelsea, a game they lost 1-0. The game would have ended differently if skipper Per Mertersacker hadn't been issued with a red card so early on in the game! Sanchez then started in the FA Cup vs high flying Championship outfit Burnley. A game in which he personally run the show, scoring the winner after Sam Vokes had pulled Burnley level.
I know Wenger isn't bringing any new faces in, however, Sanchez fully fit is like a new player himself!! Team news is that Rosiky is unavailable, however, captain Mertersacker, Bellerin, Ramsey and Ozil should all be back in the XI. I think Arsenal will see this season as a great chance to win the league, therefore, I think this game vs a solid Southampton side will be a tough test for them.
The visitors didn't start this season very well, however, Koeman has shown he is the right man for the job after seeing his side sneak up to 8th in the table, just 4 points away from 5th placed Manchester United.
Again, Southampton, like Arsenal may not bring any more faces into the squad during the transfer window, however, they've already done great business by bringing English Striker Charlie Austin to the club for peanuts in my opinion!! He is a great striker and will provide the Saints with many goals.
As Southampton were not in cup action, they've had a little extra time to prepare for the game. I know the saints have won their last 3 league games, all to nil, however, I think they were against teams that don't have the attacking capabilities of Arsenal at home. Therefore, I see a few goals in this one. Southampton have been solid at the back since the return of Forster, however, a trip to the Emirates will be a tough one.
The saints have Pelle possibly out, however, Koeman has plenty of options there in Shane Long who I think is a great striker and capable of breaking down many defenses. Otherwise, he may start with Austin.
I can see some goals in this one as I think a win is massive for both clubs, therefore, I think BTTS at 2.00 offers huge value with 10Bet. Good luck all.
