Portimonense vs Setubal by Jimeno
Portimonense comes from a very interesting game on Monday evening and a 3:3 draw taken against Guimaraes on that night. Even though the final result is a positive one since the players of Guimaraes looked like favorites before the game, visitors can't be nowhere near satisfied since they had the 3:0 lead after thirty minutes of play (goals scored by Nakajima in 16th, Fabricio in 19th and Sa in 30th minute), they in the end stood with just a point earned thanks to two goals conceded in last ten minutes of the match.
After a terrible start, players of Guimaraes slowly improved reducing the deficit in 42nd minute via Raphinha, even being better in the second halftime and deserving that point taken, thanks to two late goals in 82nd minute via Rafael Martins and Raphinha again in 88th minute. Portimonense now remains in the second part of the table with eight points earned, two more than relegating placed Moreirense.
Central defender Jadson (no performance so far) is injured, same as right back Ricardo Pessoa (8/0), left full back Inacio (didn't play either), midfielders Ewerton (7/0) and Marcel (no performance) and forwards Tabata (4/1) and Chidera Ezeh (2/0).
Setubal, on the other side, finally managed to get a victory last Saturday evening in a Primeira Liga game at home against Maritimo in a 3:1 win, which was their first in league after three consecutive matches, having a draw and two defeats.
Their opponents were much more concrete in the first halftime and deserved the lead which came during the additional time via Gamboa, everything changed in the second halftime when visitors stood playing with a man less since 66th minute when Pacheco got red carded, as the hosts upped the tempo and were much more threatening in the end deserving the victory which came thanks to goals from Joao Teixeira in 79th, Pacienca and Amaral during the additional time in the second halftime. Setubal now stands eleventh at the table, having four points more than relegating placed sides.
Striker Yannick Djalo remains long term absentee without performing in the new season.
- Four of the last five mutual matches of these two have ended with over 2.5 goals.
After Benfica and Braga drew in the first leg of this group A in Portuguese League Cup, such result may be a bit more inviting for both teams to play more open and seek for a three pointer in this match. Portimonense anyway plays much more open and attacking football than what the bookmakers suggest, while Setubal also doesn't just sit back and wait for their chance to come. Another game of Portimonense that can easily come over while we continue to have extra value odds.
