Plzen vs Manchester City by Neuro
Viktoria Plzen had more than impressive course to their qualifications to Champions League as they had to play three rounds to be in the group stage, but their opponents had slim chances as the team didn't played really great. Zeljeznicar from Bosnia was their first opponents, but got defeated 6-4 on aggregate score, while Estonian Nomme had even much less chances with the 10:2 aggregate score.
Finally Maribor from Slovenia also couldn't do much going out of the Champions League with a 4:1 aggregate defeat. Their target in the Champions League, where they are drawn in the group together with Bayern Munich, Manchester City and CSKA Moscow is to get the third position somehow at least and secure the qualification for the last 32 stage in the Europa League. In the first match against the Citizens, they want to get something positive out of the game and start the Champions League in a good way, knowing that they will be facing more than a strong team. They are currently first in the Czech league and are coming from a 1:1 draw away from home against Slovan Liberec.
Coach Pavel Vrba has no significant problems in front of the tonight's game, as important offensive midfielder Daniel Kolar (3/3 in the domestic league, 5/2 in qualifying stage) overcome his injury problems and is expected to fight from the first minute.
Manchester City is coming from a goalless draw away from home against Stoke City last Saturday in the fourth match day of the Premier League. They had much more of the ball possession especially in the first halftime, but have tried to threaten with long shoots at the most of the time.
Their hosts from Stoke stood well in the defense, but also looked more dangerous as the game progressed while the match remained without goals. For the second consecutive game City remained unbeaten without goal conceded, but were far below their real potential. Coach Pellegrini wasn't impressed with what he saw, still saying that it was a tough period for them as they were missing many players due to international games. They will try to enter this game as serious as possible as the team made a very poor run last season and it was one of the main reasons why they sacked the previous coach Roberto Mancini. Central defender Vincent Kompany is expected to start the game after missing the previous one, while Micah Richards, Martin Demichelis and Gael Clichy remain sidelined with injuries.
Both teams will try to enter the game as strong as possible, while the English side will surely try to show a better face than in comparison to last weekend. Plzen is known as very offensive side at the home pitch and disregarding the opponent tonight they shouldn't change the winning tactics, as they know they don't stand many chances defending.
