Platanias vs Panionios by Isaiah
Platanias is coming from a disqualification from the Greek cup midweek against second division table leaders Iraklis (0:0). They just wanted the win to get the ticket for the next round of the cup, but did not succeeded in a generally bad game where they threated only a little in the second half with some free kicks. To the league they are located just three points above relegation zone, with a record of five wins, three draws and eight defeats, and they won just twice to their last nine game, and those wins was against the weakest teams of the league, Niki Volou and OFI.
Platanias has no particular advantage when they are playing at home, as they have a 3-1-3 record with just seven goals scored. Key midfielder Gilvan Gomes (3 goals) is doubtful to play although he has been included to the squad, while main left back Evgen Neplyakh is missing due to African Cup of Nations, the same goes for main right back Ousmane Coulibaly.
Panionios is coming from a big win at home for the Greek Cup against second division team of Panachaiki (4:0). They wanted only the victory to ensure participation to the next round, and they did it emphatically with a good game and lot of goals. In the league they are coming from a defeat away to PAOK (3:2) but they had a game with amazing performance and they should surely walk away with a point at least.
Now they are into the relegation zone and they face today's game as a final. They do have a clear problem in the away games where they only got a point so far (0-1-7), but their recent performances and the improvement of their roster during last weeks will surely bring things to the right path. During the last days they are significantly improved their roster, as they signed right back Valentinos Vlachos from Club Brugge, defender Spyros Risvanis from Panathinaikos and midfielder Panagiotios Korbos from Panetolikos.
Both teams coming from negative results in the league but Platanias surely is in a really worse situation than Panionios at the moment. The odds are really unfair and wrong in my opinion and I think that Panionios is able to get a good result today.
