Pescara vs Chievo by Enzo
Officially, Pescara is having one victory in the season as they got arbitrary win over Sassuolo with a FA decision, however in fact, the team is staying still without a win in the season on the field. They are now on a run of two draws, since the team comes from a 1:1 draw on the road against Genoa. It could be said that neither of the teams had it's best day, but the hosts looked more concrete during the match and deservedly took the lead in 47th minute with a goal from Simeone.
However, they stood playing with two men less in last fifteen minutes of the match and it's something that players of Pescara knew how to exploit, reaching the equalizer in 85th minute with a goal from Manaj, but without being able to completely overturn the result. They are now at fifteenth position with just a point more than relegating placed Palermo and surely that a team would benefit a lot from their first "real" victory this season.
Pescara is set to play in 4-3-2-1 formation with Caprari as striker and Benali and Verre as offensive midfielders. Right defender Francesco Zampano (5/0) is still suspended for one more game, while injured remain to be central defenders Andrea Coda (1/0) and Norbert Gyomber (5/0). Alessandro Crescenzi should take the position of a right back.
Chievo, on the other side, couldn't do much more in their defeat last weekend away to Napoli 2:0, but it must be said that the team didn't look that bad as it could be. However, hosts did what was needed inside the first halftime, taking the double lead thanks to goals from Gabbiadini and Hamsik and lowered the tempo a bit once they were satisfied with the result.
Obviously Chievo isn't a side that is made to get victories over the strongest teams in Serie A, but they are doing just fine against other modest sides, looking really fluid in attack and always having a good plan prepared. After this defeat, they are sharing the fourth position wit few other teams, being just five points below the leaders from Juventus, so a victory here would mean that they are staying more than alive in a battle for European positions.
Visitors from Verona are expected to play in 4-3-1-2 formation, with Inglese and Meggiorini as strikers, plus Birsa as central offensive midfielder. Visiting manager Rolando Maran has a full roster available once more. Alessandro Gamberini is favorite over Dario Dainelli.
- Pescara have failed to win their last 6 matches (Serie A).
Pescara has improved slightly, but it shouldn't be enough for a victory here. Chievo seems to be more fluid as a team and are looking much more mature overall. Visitors probably can't win against the best teams in Italy, but are having more than decent and experienced side and in my eyes, are favorites here and their victory won't be a surprise.
