Notts County vs Forest Green by Luke
After six consecutive victories in League Two and just one goal conceded in the progress, players of Notts County suffered 3:1 defeat away to Mansfield last round, breaking their streak of ten undefeated matches in all competitions. First halftime wasn't that interesting, but the game got much more exciting in second, when the hosts opened the scoreline in 47th minute via Rose.
Same players doubled up the lead in 59th, while it was 3:0 for the hosts via an own goal just couple of minutes later - this way the players of Notts County paid the price of entering the second halftime too poorly and couldn't get back into the match, but still reduced the final deficit in second minute of additional time via Dickinson. Inspite of that defeat, the team remained at first position but now sharing it with Exeter and just three points above fourth placed Coventry.
Forest Green continued with unimpressive performances last weekend, as the side suffered narrow 0:1 defeat in front of own fans against Accrington last Saturday afternoon, without showing much of potential and creativity in attack. Guests simply came for a three pointer and got it, thanks to only goal being scored by Connely in 56th minute.
They lowered down the tempo since then and didn't have much troubles keeping their goal away from dangerous situations. As for Forest Green, the side is now without a victory in last eight matches in League Two, having only one draw in the process. The side is at the rock bottom position sharing it with two more teams with just five points out of first eleven rounds. Atmosphere is probably slightly better for Forest Green as the side won over Cheltenham away from home in Checkatrade Trophy game during the midweek wit a 1:2 result.
Notts County will surely be looking to get back to the winning way with an impressive performance here and a stable victory. There's really not much Forest Green should be able to do about it this time, especially not on the road.
