Norway vs Angola by 20Legend
Norway showed more of their usual character in their second match in the Olympics by beating Spain 27-24. It was a great boost for players, coaches and fans as the Norwegian team have to deal with huge expectations from back home.
Their first loss against Brazil (28-31) did not make the pressure any easier with rather weak defensive play and poor goalkeeping performances. Even though it was much better against Spain in the end, it was not all good if we look at the game underway. Norway missed an unusual amount of chances throughout the game and especially in the 1st half with 10 misses. The goalkeeping was better in the other end though as Kari Grimsbo managed to step up from the previous game against Brazil.
Angola has been the biggest sensation so far without a doubt as both Romania (19:23) and Montenegro (27:25) have been beaten by the African team. They play with great passion and Angola is now on a good way on qualifying for the quarterfinals. Their goalkeeper was outstanding in their last game especially with several saves at crucial moments in the game. It became a deserved win for Angola in the end with Romania being surprisingly weak allover so far during the Olympics.
Norway has shown some improvement from their first game while Angola is currently on a high with two unexpected wins. However, Angola is facing quite another team in terms of style as Norway plays with a much higher tempo compared to Romania and Montenegro. Angola should therefore get defensive problems here and mostly with their movement when defending against small and quick Norwegian players.
Norway should therefore win this game by a margin, but I will not put Angola’s offensive play to the side either after what they have accomplished so far. It should be quite a few goals in this match as well and over 51.5 goals seem interesting in my opinion.
