Nimes vs Orleans by Lucien
Nimes had a very good game last Friday evneing when the team won away from home against Clermont 2:3 in one of more interesting matches of the round. They entered the game strongly and took the lead in seventh minute via Ripart, while Kouakou doubled up the lead in 45th minute.
Players of Clermont tried to react in between and had good chances, however without scoring goals. Visitors even scored the third goal in 55th minute again via Kouakou, with the home team again trying to respond and created plenty of chances, but didn't manage to completely revert the scoreline, just reducing the deficit with goals from Thiam and Caddy. It was second consecutive victory for Nimes and fourth in last five rounds, as the side stands at fourth position at the moment, having just two points less than third placed Strasbough and four less than second Lens, as the side remains being in a must win situation for this one.
Orleans, on the other side, after four matches without a victory, two draws and two defeats, the team managed to get a narrow victory at home against Bourg Peronnas with a 1:0 result last Friday evening. Only goal was scored in last moments of the game from a penalty kick taken by Ziani in overall quite a balanced game.
Players of Orleans had a bit more ball possession, especially towards the end of the match when they looked more concrete too, but other than that, the game could have easily ended as a draw and it would be a fair outcome as well. Orelans is now just below the safely placed sides, having four more than rock bottom placed Laval, but also just a point less than safely placed Auxerre and remain in a must situation to get a positive outcome, however knowing that they are just 2-2-11 record away from home, it will be everything but easy.
Nimes is very close to promotional positions and as long as they stay there, I don't see their players making a setback at home, especially not when playing against very poor away side. Easy or hard, this should be a home victory since I believe Nimes will stay in the promotional battle all the way till last rounds of the season.
