Nice vs Guingamp by Lucien
I do not know if the draw away to Angers (1:1) was a success for Nice, but according to what I saw, Nice could easily get all three points there. Angers was better in the first half and Thomas Magnani scored an amazing goal to give Angers the lead. Nice played completely different to the second half, pressed a lot and lost a big number of opportunities. They managed to equalize with Valere Germain, had many more chances to get all three points but finally failed.
May Nice did not got the desired result, but the important fact is that the game by game Nice is getting better and is having a very good game in the field, especially in attack. This week they signed defender Ricardo Pereira from Porto and striker Mickael Le Bihan from Le Havre. Good news that defender Maxime Le Marchand and midfielder Niklas Hult are fit to play, while keeper Simon Pouplin and defender Romain Genevois are still sidelined due to injuries.
Guingamp managed to get the first win of the season, at home against Marseille (2:0). They had a great chance to open the score early in the match with a penalty but Privat missed it, anyway, Guingamp eventually managed to get the victory with two goals, both after some incredible mistakes of Marseille's defence, in the last 20 minutes of the match.
This victory ended a run of three defeats for Guingamp and now coach Jocelyn Gourvennec should face the future with more optimism. Guingamp does not having a bad roster, actually they are for middle to higher positions in the league table, in my opinion. It is just a matter of time to get improved and start scoring away from home, Jimmy Briand, Sloan Privat and Mana Dembele are always dangerous in attack and they should get in form soon. No problems reported for Guingamp.
Both teams are improving and they have some great disposals in attack. Like the previous games of Nice, I expect this one very open too and I am not going to miss those very high odds.
