Carolina vs Winnipeg Jets (By: FairPlayBet)
These odds on Winnipeg Jets against Carolina Hurricanes, even when it comes to road game, IMO are worth of risk. The Jets are having one very strong season. They are one of best in the Western Conference. Carolina on the other side is in the midstandings of the Eastern Conference and hardly can reach the playoffs.
The host is coming from two straight wins where they combined seven goals. This was good and something that goes in the line with their 5th best in NHL 34.1 shoots per game. But today they will face the team with really strong offense. The Jets might averaging less shoots per game (32) but they uses their chances and that's why Winnipeg is the 3rd best in NHL by the average of goals scored (3.36 per game).
The Jets have won the first mutual meeting at home (2:1) earlier in the season although it wasn't so good offensively game from them back then. I expect much better game from Jets now.
Huge for visiting team is their efficient on the power play. After Pittsburgh they are the best in the league. I would put there also Washington Capitals but the numbers says Pittsburgh Penguins and Winnipeg Jets are the best teams on power play.
Starting goalies tonight:
Cam Ward for Carolina and Connor Hellebuyck for Winnipeg Jets. Hellebuyck was not so great in his last couple starts, that's true but overall in the season his numbers are better than Ward's.
Winnipeg Jets are 5-2 in last seven visits here.
