Carolina vs Detroit (By: FairPlayBet)

Not so many games on tonight's NHL schedule to choose from but one particularly caught my eye. It's this one between Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings. Probably I would skip this game too if there wasn't certain line movement here in favor of Over. Now IMO we have more than decent odds to bet this game Under the total.

There is no need go too deep here. My reasons for Under bet are simple. Two not so good offenses and hopefully two currently trustful goalies.

For Detroit this would be Petr Mrazek. Not going too much back in the season, but as of late he was great. In last five games he had amazing 0.965 save %. In shots it was 139 saved out of 144. He was especially good in the previous game (San Jose Sharks) when saved 30 out of 31.

For Carolina probably will start Cam Ward. He was perfect in last night 2:0 win over Montreal Canadiens saving all 27 shots.

Both, Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings in general are not good offensive teams. Among 31 NHL teams, Detroit ranks among worst (28th) when the shots on goal are in question. They have just below 30 per game. So no wonder Red Wings scores only 2.53 goals per game. It's again 4th worst in entire NHL.

Carolina on the other side are way better with their average shots per game, more than 34 but no matter when they don't score. Namely with only 2.71 goal is per game, the Hurricanes are slightly above Detroit and ranks only as 24th best.
