Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens visit Heintz field to face the Steelers - one of the most awesome rivalries in the NFL.
The Steelers had some problems entering this season. They somehow managed to just draw vs the Browns but rebounced last week, beating Fitzmagic and the Bucs. They are throwing all day long after Le'Veon Bell decided to hold out, but are capable of running, too - 2nd year RB James Conner does well thus far. Antonio Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster are wreaking havoc on opposing defences meanwhile - led by Big Ben whos still some decent QB.
The Ravens showed some great football vs the Bills and the Broncos, yet lost their first divisional match vs the Bengals. This didn't come too unexpected, though - it's always touch to play on the road on thursday night.
QB Joe Flacco seems comfortable so far. His newly added weapons at WR work very well, providing him with dependable pass catchers around the field. Their defence didn't play up to expectations so far, but this will be last game without Jimmy Smith who was suspended for four games.
Tonights keys to succes:
The Ravens need to shut down Juju and Brown. Thus far, their D vs pass has been great, ranking second in the league. The main problem is that the Steelers have two great WRs - CB Humphrey might be able to shut down one of them (guess it'll be Brown). The Ravens will need their safeties, especially Weddle, to step up.
On the other hand, PITs D wasn't too good so far. They conceded 30 points per game on average, especially vs the pass-heavy Chiefs.
The Ravens need to keep Big Ben off the field as long as possible. Their run offense isn't good enough to do so, so Flacco has to find some solutions. If they march down the field step by step, eating up some clock, this might work very well.
Anyway, those AFC north matches tend to be close ones. Maybe the Steelers will win this one, but it shouldn't be by too many points. There's a good chance that only a field goal will make the difference here - hence, Ravens +3,5 will work.
