Newcastle vs Wolves by Shibby
Championship action again for me in a game that will see promotion favourites Newcastle United host midlands side Wolverhampton Wanderers. The game will be played at St James Park, Newcastle and will kick off at 15:00.
Newcastle are favourites to gain promotion this season, the squad they have is insane for a Championship side. They also have a Champions League winning manager in Rafa Benetez. The didn't start the season too well and many feared that they would struggle to adapt to Championship football, however, Rafa and his squad have turned things around and they look terrifying on the attack! I can see them winning the league if they continue with their current form. They have a great player in Shelvey, his form in recent games looks good, worthy of an England recall according to his manager.
Newcastle head into this game on the back of 5 straight league wins! They have won some good teams in Reading, Bristol City, Brighton, Derby and most recently QPR. Their last 4 victories have seen them win to nil. In the 6-0 drubbing of QPR their performance was great and this will have given them huge confidence in this game, if they start well it could be another huge score. Newcastle know a win here could see them over take Huddersfield at the top if they lose/draw.
Wolves on the other hand head into the game on the back of a 4-0 loss to Barnsley at home! They haven't looked the same team this season and confidence is on the low. Wolves have not won a game in their last 3 fixtures. 2 defeats and a draw (vs Burton).
Wolves do have a good squad, however, they for me need to shake things up and get a new manager. I think his time as Wolves manager may be up. They have a good potential and would be an ideal suit for a lot of managers.
Newcastle in great form and at home, Wolves winless in 3 games and away at a top side. I can only see a Toon win here. Good luck all.
