Portland Trail Blazers vs Golden State Warriors (By: Miyagi)

Game 4, Warriors lead the series 3-0.

The Blazers did exactly what they had to in Game 3, at least in the first half. They had a powerful start, attacked the basket (20 points from inside the paint in the first half) and they were more aggressive, as they were supposed to be against the Warriors. Their defense was not great, especially in transition, but things worked smoothly for them in the offensive end and they were in total control of that game as they finished the first half with a 13p lead (66-53).

And then came the Warriors' typically strong third quarter, where they kept the Blazers to an extremely low 13 points (29-13) and they regained the lead and the momentum. The Blazers never appeared on the court in the second half, their offense was non-existent and the Warriors kept hurting them in the transition while the most impressive thing is that they did not even use their main strength, as they made an extremely low 8 threes (8-26 3P).

Things are clear, the Warriors are in the finals! Yeah, I know what Pierce said about the Celtics after Game 1 against the Bucks...but still, no delusions here.

Now, the thing is that the Blazers have nothing to lose anymore and they know what they have to do (repeat that first half performance) and how they have to do it! The good news for them is that Iggy (picked up an injury in last game) is questionable and I can only assume that it is not in Warriors' best interest to lose another key player, so, they probably won't risk with him today, which simply means that Lillard will get a break, finally.

Lillard, who is shooting with 32% FG in those series, has to step up and finally be aggressive, make his opponents feel him for once! I was thinking about his points but he literally plays like himself for 8 minutes in the first quarter and 8 minutes in the last, no kidding!

Anyway, the Blazers have more than enough firepower both in their starting lineup and in their bench with the likes of Curry, Hood, and Turner but they have not been able to control the tempo or slow down the Warriors, who have now scored at least 110 points in each game of those series and in each game on the road in the postseason so far! I like the over here and expect both teams to score above 109 points.
