Minnesota Timberwolves vs Oklahoma City Thunder (By: FairPlayBet)
Minnesota is without chances to reach postseason unless they achieve something like 17-2 in final 19 games. And that obviously won't happen. In this situation, experience tells me such team would underperform till end of regular season.
On the other side Oklahoma is safe but they need to close it in positive way and thus to avoid being 4th. On this way they can avoid Warriors all till possible conference finals. Not to talk that Oklahoma could even drop to 5th and thus to remain home court advantage even in the first playoff round. But IMO this won't happen, Oklahoma is going to close strong although their recent results weren't good. I especially expect from them to improve when Paul George get back. Seems his return won't be tonight but he is now marked as questionable.
Even without George, I think Oklahoma will win this one. Minnesota with 1-4 in last 5 games is good place for Oklahoma bounce back. It's true Minnesota has very nice 20-10 at home and recent victories here over Houston, Clippers, Sacramento but as said above, IMO huge underperforming follows for Minnesota.
Oklahoma is only 1-4 on the last 5 road games but with 17-15 away from home they are still second best road team in this stronger conference.
We can say Westbrook wasn't too great since George's absence, it's time to he steps up tonight.
And by the way, I like Oklahoma much more on these small underdog odds without Paul George than him in the team but Oklahoma being here decent favorite and then I would need away win with a margin.
The bottom line, in the current circumstances, I would go with Oklahoma on even odds all day long against any non playoffs team.
