Philadelphia 76ers vs Denver Nuggets (By: Miyagi)

The Sixers have lost their last two games and are coming from a bitter loss (107-119) to one of their main rivals in the Eastern Conference, Toronto, at home and that will definitely give them some extra motivation today while facing the team with the second best record in the West adds to that. Great news for them is that they added another great two-way player who can stretch the court and contribute a lot offensively, Tobias Harris.

The Nuggets have also lost their last two games but the most concerning thing for them should be their defense which was terrible as they allowed 135p to the Nets and 129p to the Pistons who have one of the worst offensive records in the league! Millsap missed the game against the Pistons and that has to be mentioned, as the duo Plumlee-Jokic is at least laughable in defense and they have been a liability for the Nuggets time after time when they have started together (during Millsap's injury earlier in the season), so no wonder why Drummond had a season-high 27p in that game.

Millsap is questionable today and if he is going to miss this one and if they will ever offer lines, I'm going with Embiid's points as well, hands down.

Those teams rank amongst the top 3 in the league in points scored in the first quarter while the Sixers rank easily first in the league in points per first quarter at home with their huge 31.8 and have the most games with 40+ points scored in the first quarter.

It's fair to expect a very high score in the first quarter given the fact that the Nuggets' defense has been way off recently and there is a good chance they will miss Millsap. Those teams faced each other a couple of weeks ago in Denver where the Nuggets won (126-110), though the Sixers missed Embiid and Butler back then and Jokic was having a party under their basket finishing the game with 32 points and 18 rebounds.

I had this bet and the Sixers as bankers but as usual, one of the most vital players and a basis for this bet, Embiid, was placed in the injury report (illness) and he is questionable. That illness and soreness thing is a trend nowadays and makes things extremely tough for predictions. Anyway, I expect the Sixers to start very strong in this game and have the lead at the end of the first quarter.
