Houston Rockets vs Brooklyn Nets (By: Miyagi)
Harden is unstoppable, he comes from another incredible performance against the Grizzlies, who have one of the best defenses in the league, and he scored more points (57) than the rest of his teammates (55)!
There was something wrong with the Grizzlies defense in that game though, something very wrong, as they had just one player to worry about but yet they gave him WIDE open lanes to their basket time after time after time... and the officials would not let anyone touch him without an instant call, to be honest.
Anyway, I had my bets on him in that game mainly because of Capela's injury and the fact that the Rockets didn't even train once without him, so Harden had the green light to do whatever he wanted in that particular game. Though they had time to set their plays and work without Capela those last couple of days and Harden is not expected to have as much freedom as he had against the Grizzlies, wherein several occasions his teammates 'gently' showed their frustration for not getting feed while they had wide open looks.
Capela is out, Paul is out, Gordon is out, while D.House who finds his way to the starting lineup because of the many injuries and scored at least 14 points in the Rockets' last 3 games will be out of the team as he was moved to G-League (rejected contract) which makes things even worse for the Rockets.
Expect Rivers to have a bigger role here and act as primary ball handler/ run plays in several occasions (to give some breather to Harden). Rivers has been good ever since he joined the Rockets, he has improved his long-range shot as he is scoring 2.4 three-pointers per game in his last 5 and 14.9 points. He has the ability to drive to the basket, which will be very useful against the Nets today and, besides Harden, he is the one that should help the most for the Rockets offensive so at this low line there is absolutely no doubt.
