Houston Rockets vs Denver Nuggets (By: Miyagi)
The Nuggets do not just have trouble against opposing Centers, they have set the bar so high by screwing up so much and for so long that they are on a special category!
Their last game was the final straw, at least for me. Biyombo (with his career 5.0 points per game) who found himself in the Hornets starting lineup, came out of nowhere and scored 14 points (6-7 attempts) in the first half while he was grabbing offensive rebounds and extra chances completely unchallenged.
The Nuggets have Jokic and Plumlee starting together ever since Millsap's injury, so what can go wrong when you have two smart, strong, athletic big guys side by side? Apparently, everything cause they can't even secure the defensive rebounds.
In their last 6 games, they faced Aldridge twice within two days and he scored 27 and 22 points. Then the rookie Ayton scored 33 with 10 offensive rebounds! Then Kanter scored 17 with 7 offensive rebounds in 20 minutes. Then Cauley-Stein scored 13. And finally Biyombo 16p. All of them shooting above 50% from the field.
Millsap, who returned to action a couple of games ago, is playing with a banged up -still broken toe- and he might get right back in the starting lineup for this one or even (would make sense) take the day off as the Nuggets will play against the Heat tomorrow.
Capela is in good shape, he averages 18.2 points (64% FG) during his last 5 games, he is one of the most consistent players and he is carrying the Rockets with Harden offensively, especially since they are also missing Gordon as of late. Capela was the top scorer for the Rockets with 24 points (11-15 FG) in their first meeting of the season with the Nuggets while Millsap was in the starting lineup back then. He is expected to have another good game, with Harden assisting him and should score 20 or more points.
