Denver Nuggets vs Charlotte Hornets
The Hornets come from an embarrassing home loss to the -terrible on the road Mavericks- while they also had their season-low 84 points scored in that game. Kemba finished the game with a poor 11 points (28% FG) while the Hornets had a lot of trouble offensive in their first game of the season without Lamb who is one of their most valuable players offensively.
C Zeller will miss this one, Lamb missed yesterday's practice and his status is still unknown.
Nuggets come from a win (117-113) against the Kings on the road. The first half was a Jokic vs Kings battle as the other starters for the Nuggets had a poor start and especially Murray who made his first basket of the game late in the second quarter. Murray took over in the second half, got on fire in the third quarter where he scored 17 points and went on to score a massive 33 of his team's 64 points in the second half! Millsap and Harris who returned from injuries a game before that, against the Knicks, came from the bench and were both good.
Kemba had a decent run of 7 very good games where he was shooting with 54% from the field during that stretch but it came to an end with that poor performance against the Mavericks and it is more likely that he is on a new run of throwing bricks all over the place. This is the first of a back-to-back set for the Hornets who will visit the Suns in a much easier task tomorrow and it would make sense to rest Lamb today in case he is available to return, which would add to their offensive struggle. In any case, I can see a Nuggets team that has 2 important players back from injuries, they are in good shape and they add much-needed depth but apart from that, Jokic and Murray have been on fire recently and should one of them start strong in this game, the Hornets might as well pack their bags for tomorrow's game before halftime.
