Detroit Pistons vs Washington Wizards (By: Miyagi)
This is one of those games where Wall has a chance to redeem himself against a team that has deep trouble defending guards and players who are aggressive with a good dribble and penetration, like Wall, have crushed them all season long. Yet, who is going to trust this guy who took a rest, ahead of the tough Pacers game, only to give another shameful performance (7 points, 14% FG).
So, it comes down to a far more consistent Griffin who might have an extra motivation here. The Pistons come from a loss to the Hawks in a match they were trailing for the biggest part (3+ quarters). Griffin has to take some of the blame as he had a great chance to give his team the lead (91-92 score) with 23'' remaining in the game but he missed both clutch free-throws and his facial expression said it all! So, for starters, it won't be surprising if he comes out swinging here.
There is no particular matchup for him in this game as he will find himself against Ariza and Jeff Green for the biggest part of the game and he has the physical advantage against both. The Wizards are doing a terrible both job inside the paint and the low post recently, Ayton and TJ who were camping around their basket combined for 54 points and 10 offensive rebounds, while Young and Turner (Pacers) combined for 28 points and 12 offensive rebounds. Double-team and extra help in defense is something rare for the Wizards, which works in Griffin's favor.
Should Griffin want, he can easily have another 30 point game today.
