Houston Rockets vs Oklahoma City Thunder (By: Miyagi)
Chris Paul, unfortunately, had a setback with a hamstring strain in an 'unnecessary' hustle in the game against the Heat and is expected to be out for at least a couple of weeks.
With CP3 out, Harden starts as PG and Gordon as SG for the Rockets. Harden's main weakness is his defense and it's not even a secret anymore, both T.Jonhnson (Heat) and Forbes (Spurs) shot with 50% FG, in the previous two games, against him.
Westbrook has struggled a lot with his shots in December (although the few ones he makes are a beauty with his new bank-shot style) as he is shooting with a poor 37% FG, 27% from the three-point line, but he has made up for that by recording 9 double-doubles and 6 triple-doubles!
Westbrook scored 31 points (50% FG), in the last time he faced the Rockets with Harden assigned on, last season (Paul missed that game).
Westbrook has scored 20 or more points in just 1 of his previous 6 games (his last one).
Westbrook will go H2H against a friend, former team-mate but also current MVP holder and he will be, at the very least, extra motivated today. There is no doubt that he has a very-very easy matchup against Harden, who has an extra excuse for not playing defense as he is focused and assigned to do a lot more things on offense since they miss Paul. Westbrook will, in fact, be ordered (and not just asked) to take advantage of that and give some significant help to George who is carrying the Thunders on his own in December, he has an easy match-up, some extra motivation to feed his self-centered nature and he should go above 30 points today.
