Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors
A lot of trouble with injuries for the Raptors who are on the second game of a back to back set and they spent a lot of energy against the Cavaliers last night, despite the final score (126-110) which is a bit misleading. All of their starters yesterday, with the exception of Anunoby who got in foul trouble early, stayed on the court for at least 33 minutes.
Toronto will miss Kawhi who has never played back-to-back games this season, their Centers Ibaka and Valanciunas as well as Green who has been a great two-way player so far while Lowry's status improved to questionable.
The matchups are a mess for the Raptors as they miss 3 of their best defenders, they have no enough to limit the damage from Embiid with Monroe being their only option, and then they have to neutralize an ultra-aggressive version of Simmons and somehow limit the damage from Butler and the lethal hands of JJ...Just too much to ask!
The Sixers are not messing around at home, where they have a 15-3 record. They are at full strength and they are looking to take one back in the series against the Raptors, who have beaten them twice in Toronto by more than 10p difference, and look for their own double-digit win in their first game of those series at home.
Sixers lead the league in points scored in the first quarter 30.6 (32 at home) and they are the team with the most 40p scored in the first quarter this season. When facing a team that is on the second of a back-to-back (nevermind the major problems with injuries for Toronto) all you need is a good start and you just close the door as its extremely tough for any opponent to turn things around later into the game. Sixers have that, they can start very strong and have a very easy afternoon today.
