Portland Trail Blazers vs Minnesota Timberwolves (By: Khum)

Regular Season

Portland Trailblazers - Minnesota Timberwolves

In this series the home team has been holding the ground for the past 9 games.

This season each team won at home one game.

This game is kind of important, because a Wolves win can tie them up in the rankings and they are dueling for a playoff spot.

The Blazers are short favourites here, and one could make a case for them based on the Wolves being a bad road team for the past season and the begining of this one. Yet that was a Minnesota team which was not defending and had no chemistry.

Since Jimmy Butler was traded the Wolves are 9-3 SU, they are rocking ATS and they are 2-0 on the road.

Portland started the season in nice fasion, but lately they're in a kind of a slump, despite wining the last one, against arguably the poorest team in NBA at this moment, the Suns.

McCollum is gonna come back for the Blazers, after he sat against Phoenix due to a sprained ankle ... and he's gonna have his hands full tonight, as the former no1 draft pick, Andrew Wiggins, the last piece in the Thibodeau's squad which wasn't working leveled up in the past two games, showing up against the Celtics and the Rockets and playing his best game of the season against the Hornets. He usually thrives against Portland and coach Thibs seemed very pleased with him two days ago:

"He is playing very aggressively right now, and we need him downhill, attacking, not hesitating on his shot. Defensively, he is flying around. The more he's in motion, the better it is for us."

Another key in the Wolves game is the rejuvenated former NBA MVP Derrick Rose, which reinvented his game and surprised all the NBA world by helping consistently his new team and his old coach.

All in all, I expect a solid performance from the Wolves tonight, in a direct battle for the playoffs. Two days from now they will play in Oracle Arena against Golden State, but Thibodeau is wise enough to see the doubled value of this game and not to focus on the other one, where the hype of Draymond Green's comeback and/or the Warrior's momentum will give them smaller chances.

I'm going with the team riding the momentum.

Let's go green!

105-103 for the Wolves with 1'40 to go ... then 4 misses for them and 10 straight points for the Blazers. 8 of them in the final minute, where entered 105 - 105.
Whatta bad beat!
