Nautico vs Botafogo by Isaiah
Nautico suffered a heavy defeat at home with the score of 1-4 against Cruzeiro although at the first half they were competitive and the the score was 1-1. With this result they are still to the bottom of the league standings and they have the worst defense and offense of the league, remaining still too far from the safe positions.
Although they changed coach recently, nothing seems to work better. As Marcelo Martelotte stated he decided to play attacking from now on, knowing that only the victory is needed to the rest of the games. Striker Rogerio (23 games, 3 goals) and midfielder Dada (16 games) are both suffering with injuries, while midfielder Martinez (18 games) and right back Maranhao (12 games) are both back in the squad after suspension.
Botafogo lost from Gremio with the score of 0-1 at home, in a game where they conceded the goal seven minutes before the end of the first half, although early in the 30th minute Gremio was playing with ten players. This was the fourth defeat in the last five games for Botafogo, and including the cup matches, they are without a win in the last six games.
Although they have fallen a lot in the standings, they still remain in the top four and the positions that leading to Copa Libertadores next season, having a safe distance from the other teams. Right back Lucas (10 games) and midfielder Gabriel (24 games) are both injured and left out of the squad, but right back Edilson (17 games, 2 goals) and defender Bolivar (30 games, 2 goals) are both back from suspension. Midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro (25 games, 4 goals) is missing with the national Uruguay team, while goalkeeper Jefferson (24 games) is missing with the national Brazil team.
It is obvious that Botafogo is in a crisis with all those bad results recently, while Nautico is struggling especially in defense. Nautico had many games at home which finished with more than two goals (8 out of 13), while Botafogo has the same behavior when playing away from home (8 out of 13 games finished with over 2.5 goals).
