Napoli vs Sassuolo by Sunshine
Everyone is excited with the prospect of the new season in Napoli as the team has four consecutive victories in the new championship, but not only that. They managed to win over Dortmund, Champions League runner-up from last season, in the first round of group stage of Champions League with a 2:1 result at home and will try to use momentum to get the fifth consecutive victory tonight.
Team of Rafa Benitez broke tradition on Sunday evening as they won over Milan 2:1 away from home for the first time in twenty seven years, just to remain at the top of the standings tied together with Roma. Scorers were Britos and Higuain, although it must be said that Milan had plenty of chances and Napoli players were lucky too, as goalkeeper Reina saved a penalty kick in 61st minute, a shoot from Balotelli. In any way, Benitez was satisfied saying that if the team continues like this, victories will come more easily for them. Atmosphere in the club is great, as the stadium is sold-out even against a team who are, without any doubts, sure favorites to return back to Serie B right away.
They will try to break the history once again and get the fifth consecutive victory at the start of the season, something they have never did till now. Midfielder Maggio will stay out of the action for the next month, while Zuniga comes back from a injury.
Sassuolo is coming from a humiliating 7:0 defeat at home against Inter and a performance nobody can be satisfied with. After four rounds, they have no point earned and a goal difference 1:15. None is satisfied with how the season started while it's still to be seen how the team will react on it and if they actually have any quality to overpower the situation and get some points soon.
Coach Di Francesco has said that he and the team take the responsibility, but also that he learned not to give up, while he will surely think of many player's rotations in front of the new tough exam for them. In next two matches they will face up against Napoli and Lazio as it's obvious the team has not enough quality to be too much competitive against them, while the coach said that he hopes his players can show a reaction and prove that they aren't the worst team in Europe. Central defender Teranova (3/0) is injured, while sidelined from the start of the season remain midfielders Marrone, Valeri and striker Gomez. Striker Berardi is finally available for the coach after serving two different suspensions. Although he might change many players, coach isn't expected to change 4-3-3 formation.
Huge quality difference between two sides and extremely good atmosphere on one side and extremely poor atmosphere on the other, convince me that even bigger handicap might not be a problem for in-form Napoli backed by the full stadium.
