Napoli vs Milan by Enzo
Napoli didn't have much luck in their previous game when the team visited Juventus and now lost the first position, for now at least. The game wasn't that impressive from either of sides and looked like it will end as a goalless draw, however the visiting side lost some concentration during last minutes and suffered 1:0 defeat with a goal from Zaza in 88th minute.
The team also comes from a narrow 1:0 defeat in Europa League clash away to Villarreal, since the team rested few important players and couldn't deliver better result, still remaining with chances to improve the situation and progress on Thursday evening when the second leg in Italy will be played. As for domestic league, they are now second at the table with two points less than Juventus and after their rival's setback away to Bologna, they now have a chance of recovering the first position in case of a victory tonight. Napoli should be playing in 4-3-3 formation this time, with Callejon, Higuain and Insigne as forwards. They will surely be playing here with the best possible eleven, since the team rested few players in their Europa League loss to Villarreal.
Milan, on the other side, comes from a 2:1 home victory over Gernoa. Team from coach Mihajlovic got very strong into the game and took the lead already in fifth minute with a goal from Bacca, while Honda increased the lead in 64th minute. All the visitors were able is to reduce the deficit in second minute of additional time via Cerci.
Overall, it was deserved victory for Milan, team that slowly goes into the right form and direction and in case they continue like this, they still have a chance of qualifying for Europe directly. They are nine points off from the Champions League tickets, but are only five points below fifth placed Inter and also need a victory in order to approach closer. As said, the team improved recently, having no defeat in last nine matches, with the last one being on sixth January when they hosted Bologna. Visitors should be playing in 4-4-2 formation with Bacca and Niang as strikers. Giacomo Bonaventura and M'Baye Niang have fully recovered and are expected to play here. Juraj Kucka is only real unavailable player from their starting eleven, but Andrea Bertolacci is doing well on his position for now. Goalkeeper Diego Lopez (8/0), defender Rodrigo Ely (3/0) and midfielder Juraj Kucka (20/1) remain unavailable.
Napoli is now in a must win situation in order to exploit setback of Juventus, as they need a three-pointer in order to get the first position again. I have no doubts that the hosts will try to attack from the first time, while Milan improves more and more and surely do play better in offense than in defense. Both teams to score and over goals is my first choice.
