Chicago Cubs vs St. Louis Cardinals (By: Mulder)

Sunday night baseball so we can all enjoy what A-Rod has to tell us at ESPN.

Usually the Cards are really good with avoiding the sweep ( altough they got swept already this season ), but here i have to go for a Cubs sweep and here is why..

Good old Wainwright will start for the Cards. Lost velocity over the years but has good off-speed stuff nowadays in order to get the job done. However, this is in particular the case at home. Indeed, at home he is 4-1 with a 2.31 ERA> 8.49 K/9, 3.86 BB/9.

On the road however a different story: 1-4 with a 6.61 ERA> 4.31 BB/9. So he is coming from an outing against this very Cubs team indeed just a week ago. He pitched 8 scoreless innings on 2 hits. But it is a miracle how he came away with it as he walked 7 (!) cubbies.

But in his other outing against the Cubs this season, here at Wrigley Field, he got tagged for 6 runs.

-Cardinals are 1-4 in Wainwrights last 5 road starts vs. Cubs.

For the Cubs RHP Hendricks will take place on the mound. Posted a 3.16 ERA with a 8.30 K/9 but at home he has been fantastic. He is 3-1 at home with a 1.71 ERA and a better 9.00 K/9, 1.07 BB/9 as well. He allowed just 2 homeruns at home in 42.0 innings pitched, which is amazing considering the fact that he had a lot of windy days here in this ball park.

He is 6-2 against the Cards with a 3.05 ERA.

-Cubs are 9-0 in Hendricks' last 9 starts vs. Cardinals.

Both bullpens are pitching well as of late so backing Hendricks to get the job done for a Cubbies Sweep.
