Milan vs Anderlecht by DamirJ

Milan is coming from a 0:1 narrow lost at home against Atalanta in the third round of domestic league, having a start they didn't hope for. After three rounds, they have only one win and two losses, more important - both losses were with 0:1 results at home, against Atalanta as said and Sampdoria. However, the didn't didn't look that bad in neither of these two matches and the things could look much better for them after tonight's game.

Just as in their previous home defeat, they also didn't look that bad against Atalanta neither, but the guests were the first one to score the goal and then stood well in the defense and managed to get out of San Siro with all three points. Having more chances created and holding the ball much more in their possession didn't help much to Milan, just like in the season opener. However, despite these two losses, the overall picture is still not terrible, having in mind their much better performance away to Bologna (3:1 victory).

Anderlecht, on the other side, seems to be going out of form a little bit in their domestic league. After a good start of the season followed by qualifying for Champions League group stage and wins over Ekranas and AEL Limassol (although they lost the first game at Cyprus), the Belgium side earned just three points in next three domestic matches, making three consecutive draws against much weaker sides, at least on the paper.

Leuven, Genk and Lierse where the teams that recently walked away from matches against Anderlecht with one point. While their form in the domestic league is highly questionable after those recent performances, there is no question that they need much more quality, especially in the defense, if they are to compete with the European best teams. They didn't look that well in a game at Cyprus near the end of August, neither in any other following match and it's hard to expect them giving a tough test to Italian side tonight. The fact that Matias Suarez is injured and Milan Jovanovic suspended won't help them either.

Milan didn't seem like an in-form team early in the season, but they can do surely much better than in previous two home games. After two losses at home, they are surely motivated to win this one and the quality difference looking at the squads is surely in favor of the Italian side.
