Marseille vs Evian by DamirJ
Marseille is coming from a 2:2 draw away to Fenerbahce earned four days ago in the first round of Europa League. French side has shown great fighting spirit as they were 0:2 down just a few minutes before the final whistle, but refused to surrender and avoided the defeat.
Everything started wrong for them in that match, being already 2:0 down in the first hour, although they didn't play bad at all. As said, they continued pressing and continued with their game - getting more than deserved 2:2 final draw. Great start of the season for Marseille in the domestic league saw them winning the fifth match in a row and getting the first position - fifth win out of the same number of matches - something that the team didn't achieve in previous eighty years.
Hosts will be without substitute defender N'Diaye who received a knock in Istanbul and will be unavailable in next three weeks. Long term absent players continue to be veteran center back Diawara and midfielder Burton.
Evian, on the other hand, currently finds themselves being at the 19th position with only four points earned in five rounds. The team hit rock bottom before the fifth round and had to sack the coach after the poor start, decision that proved to be correct as they bounced back with a 3:0 win over Bastia last weekend.
They entered the game more than carefully, but the mistakes from Bastia defense make them leading before the half-time with a 1:0 result. Later on, much better and more confident performance was seen from Evian players that claimed much needed first victory this season. However, their main worry remain performances on the road as they are yet to score a goal away from their own fans. for tonight's game, key striker Khelifa is back in the squad after being punished for arriving late from the international matches, while the only absent player remain midfielder Tie Bi.
Although the guests improved their position last weekend, they still have to work hard in order to escape from dangerous positions. Marseille is playing very well at the moment and after a morale boasting comeback in Turkey they should get another home victory without significant problems and continue their hot streak.
