Maritimo vs Braga by Isaiah
Maritimo met another defeat, this time away to Arouca with the score of 1:0 in a match where they played with ten men from 60th minute. According to the match reports they had a terrible performance but also they had a significant number of absences. With this defeat they now count six defeats to their last eight games (1-1-6) and to their most recent match they brought a draw (1:1) away to Estoril in a match where they had an improved performance.
Now their record in the league is five wins, one draw and eight defeats, but they are going well at home where they have four wins, one draw and only one defeat. Anyway, they had an easy fixture schedule so far and the deciding games now starting. Main left back Ruben Ferreira is still out with injury, while attacking midfielder Theo Weeks, left winger Mohamed Ibrahim and sub striker Johnny Vidales are all available after injuries or suspensions.
Braga finished 2014 with great form and with no defeat to their last seven games (five wins, two draws) and their latest league game was a comfortable 3-0 win at home over Pacos Ferreira, where they scored three goals in the first half. They are now sitting comfortable to the third position of the league table, just three points away from the second position and nine points from the top. Away from home they count four consecutive wins in the league and the cup, the most recent away to Benfica.
To their most recent match they accepted the defeat away to Uniao Madeira (2nd division) for the League Cup, a match that Braga ignored completely, since after the game against Maritimo they have a home game for the quarter finals of the cup against Belenenses, where they are obviously more interested. There is no problems with injuries, so coach Sergio Conceicao will field the best possible eleven.
Maritimo is in a down trend as in the last eight games in the league they count just one win. At the same time Braga followed the opposite path and climbed to third position remaining unbeaten in the seven recent games. I do not think that Braga will drop points today.
