Manchester United vs Wolfsburg by Luke
After many ups and downs at the start of the season, it seems that Manchester United is slowly getting into the right form. However, their start in the Champions League wasn't as expected, as the team suffered 2:1 defeat against PSV Eindhoven. It was surely big surprise and disappointment, which makes the team now aim for all three points as any other result would jeopardize their qualification completely.
Manchester United had much more of the ball possession and entered the game concretely, with attacks from the off. They even took the lead in 41st minute via Depay, but found themselves equalized just a few moments later thanks to a goal from Moreno. Narsingh's goal in 57th minute brought PSV into the lead, while the English side looked better till the end of the game and only lacked to be more concrete in offense, leaving the field with empty hands. Left full back Luke Shaw (6/0) is injured, same as defensive midfielder Michael Carrick (5/0). Left defender Marcos Rojo, right full back/midfielder Antonio Valencia and midfielder Ander Herrera all missed the training session on Tuesday and are questionable for the game, however with chances to play here for all three.
Wolfsburg, on the other side, can't be much happier with the start in the new season, except for their 1:1 draw last weekend at home against Hannover. A game that should have been won, completely belonged to the players of Wolfsburg who dominated from the first minute and took the lead in 40th minute via Dost, however visitors replied early in the second half and the hosts didn't get three points even though they missed plenty of good goal scoring chances.
After that draw and expected defeat away to Bayern, the team has slipped down to fourth position at the table, being already nine points away from first placed Bayern. Anyway, title race isn't realistic for them and the team will be focused on getting the Champions League ticket again. They started off with a victory in the first round of Champions League over CSKA Moscow 1:0 at home, making a right step into the direction to end up between first two positions. After that victory, they can play a bit more freely here and no doubt that even a point taken here won't be much of a negative result. Guests could be missing midfielder Vieirinha (3/0), goalkeeper Koen Casteeels (3/0) and defensive Luiz Gustavo (5/0). Felipe Lopes is still lacking match fitness and shouldn't be involved here as well.
Manchester United now needs to win and surely remains a favorite here, however Wolfsburg has plenty of quality in attack. English side is still not to be trusted and can easily concede, even more than once, leaving us with over goals and both teams to score as first betting options.
