Man City vs Watford by Luke

Manchester City suffered heavy defeat last Saturday evening as the team visited Leicester and somehow surprisingly stood defeated with a 4:2 result, without being able to look superior for the most of the game. Citizens had much more of the ball possession, but nothing more than that, as the home team managed to score three goals inside first twenty minutes.

Vardy opened up the lead in third minute with King doubling up the lead in fifth minute already. Everything was easier from that moment, while Vardy scored third in 20th minute. Same player scored his third goal in 78th minute, while the Citizens managed to score two goals, but only inside last ten minutes, via Kolarov and Nolito. This was third consecutive negative result for them (a draw in Champions League at home to Celtic and defeats to Chelsea and Leicester), as the team now stands fourth at the table, already having seven points less than leaders from Chelsea and need to get a victory here desperately.

Citizens should be playing in 4-1-4-1 formation with Iheanacho as striker. Suspended for this match are striker Sergio Aguero (12/10) and defensive midfielder Fernandinho (14/1), while injured remains central defender Vincent Kompany (3/0). Midfielder Fabian Delph (2/0) is doubtful.

Watford, on the other side, took important 3:2 victory at home against Everton last Saturday afternoon, as the team reacted well after two consecutive defeats, to Stoke and West Brom in previous weeks. The game might have ended differently on some other day, but still the home team deserved it since they looked more concrete with the chances created.

However, the start wasn't ideal since Lukaku brought Everton into the lead in 17th minute, but Okaka replied in 36th minute. Hosts had great entrance in the second halftime and took the double lead, with goals from Prodl and second one from Okaka, while Everton only managed to reduce towards the end of the game again with a goal from Lukaku. Watford is now at seventh position, looking really decently into this season, as they remain now nine points above the relegation zone and have every reason to feel satisfied with their record for now.

Visitors should be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Amrabat, Deeney and Okaka as forwards. Defender Adrian Mariappa and defensive midfielder Brice Dja Djedje are both sidelined without performing so far in the season. Central defender Craig Catchcart (5/0) is injured, as well as midfielder Kenedy (1/0). Doubtful with injury problems are midfielder Valon Behrami (14/0) and central defender Younes Kaboul (9/0).

Watford is doing fine for now, but their performances away from home aren't that reliable and positive. Citizens are now really in a must win situation but not only that, they need a convincing performance so badly in order to improve the atmosphere as well. I fully believe that they'll make it this time and react with much easier victory than what the bookmakers suggest.
