Lyon vs Evian by Neuro
Seems that Lyon has finally found their right form, as the team plays with much more confidence and surely the most important thing, they are winning. Last weekend they visited Reims and generally had a pretty fine performance with their victory never being in doubt against a side that lost only four times till then.
Lacazette scored the opening goal in 25th minute, while Fofana sealed the victory five minutes before the full time whistle. All in all, they looked way more superior on the field and the final scoreline could have been with at least a goal more in Reims' net. They have also easily progressed over Yzeure with the 3:1 result on the road in French Cup during midweek, as the team got their fifth straight victory in all competitions. Combined with previous victories over Marseille (Cup game) and against Sochaux in league, there is no doubt that the atmosphere has improved a lot in their locker room, while the team still finds themselves at eight position, but now with only six points difference to fourth placed St Etienne.
Midfielder Benzia (10/2) limped off in a Cup game and will be out for three weeks, while right back Dabo (6/0) is already long term absentee and defender Lopes (13/0) was carried out from the pitch against Reims due to dislocated shoulder.
Evian, on the other side, is coming from a goalless draw against Rennes last weekend away from home, in a game where the hosts had complete supremacy over the game, created chances and held the ball to their feet, but simply were stuck to a bore draw. No doubt that the Rennes would feel the final result was unfair, while the visitors were happy to break the streak of defeats at least.
With this draw, Evian broke the run of five consecutive defeats in all competitions, even though the overall picture of their team wasn't improved in that weekend. Additionally, they continue their poor form in offense, as the team only scored two goals in last five official games. Offensive midfielder Ehret (8/1) is still recovering from his muscle injury and is doubtful for this game, while defensive midfielder Tie Bi (10/0) is already counted as long term absentee. Offensive midfielder Sougou (19/4) is suspended for this game and will not travel to Lyon.
Lyon is improving game by game and there is no doubt that the team will try to get the European ticket this Spring. Their form is in obvious uptrend and there is very little Evian will be able to do in order to stay competitive for all ninety minutes. Game probably ending with Lyon's victory with a clean sheet.
