Lokeren vs Lierse by Isaiah
Lokeren won easier than expected awat to Waasland Beveren with the score of 0:2. They came very loud in the game and Hamdi Harbaoui scored both goals in the first half, while Beveren played with ten men from 37th minute and lost a penalty a little bit before half time whistle.
They did what was expected against Beveren but they lost enough points to the previous games so now it is still necessary to win the game against Lierse and climb up to the table to reach top six. Main defender Mijat Maric (11 games) will miss for second consecutive game while main winger Jordan Remacle (10 games, 4 goals), substitute midfielder Enes Saglik (5 games) and substitute midfielder Jore Trompet (2 games) are again out of the squad for various reasons.
Lokeren will play with their usual 4-3-3 and Ayanda Patosi (7 games, 1 goal), Nill de Pauw (12 games, 1 goal) and Hamdi Harbaoui (12 games, 11 goals) in front line.
Lierse lost at home against struggling Oostende with the score of 0:2 in a game where they were totally harmless in the first half but improved their play in the second half. They created some good opportunities to score in the second half but this was not enough as their defense accepted two goals , a penalty and a red card.
Clearly their weaknesses lies in defense and in creativity. They cannot easily create opportunities to score so they have a problem and they need to find solutions. Many important problems for Lierse ahead of tonight's match.
Key defender Arjan Swinkels (10 games), key midfielder Hossam Ghaly (12 games), main right back Enar Jaager (12 games), defender Jens Wouter Corstjens (5 games) and key defender Karim Saidi (12 games) are all out for various reasons. This means that they will miss their entire defensive line tonight, while also remain out of action key midfielder Rachid Bourabia (11 games, 4 goals) and sub striker Kostadin Hazurov (4 games).
Lierse will field an experimental defensive line and in my opinion they will hardly be able to avoid the defeat against the quality attacking line of Lokeren.
