Lokeren vs Club Brugge by Isaiah
After a surprising victory taken away in Liege against Standard three rounds ago, Lokeren failed to confirm that three pointer and surprisingly lost at home against considerably weaker Mouscron suffering 1:2 defeat. Despite more of a ball possession and chances created, domination on the field, they weren't able to score more than once, thus staying with a zero point in that game. Visitors opened the lead in fifth minute with an own goal, but the players of Lokeren responded two minutes later with equalizer from Patosi.
From that moment on, Lokeren looked more serious on the field and were better, however stood once behind in the scoreline, in 41st minute when Dussenne brought the visitors again into the lead. In the second half, hosts had supremacy over the ball, but lacked better final touch. Anyway, they are now only at 12th position, with two victories, two draws and four defeats, surely a start that can be compared as positive. Once again, coach Peeters is under heavy pressure and might be leading the team in one of his last matches this time. However, the atmosphere improved a little on Wednesday night when the team celebrated a 6:2 victory against Acren in the Cup competition. Home side will be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Ghandir, Patosi and Ansah as their offensive trio.
After disappointing loss against Mouscorn 2:1 and after being completely outplayed in the first round of Europa League when they visited Napoli and lost 5:0, Club Brugge bounced back with much better performance last weekend at home against Beveren when they celebrated 5:1 victory. They scored all five goals from 40th to 76th minute, but generally looked much better and dominated the whole game.
They were really excellent during the whole game, taking a 2:0 lead at the halftime with two late goals via Dierckx and an own goal and continued in the same manner in the repetition, netting three more goals: in 46th Dierckx, in 74th Vossen and finally two minutes later via de Fauw. All the visitors were able is to reduce the deficit later on thanks to a goal from Milosevic. During the midweek they additionally improved impressions with a 4:0 victory on the road against Patro Eisden. Midfielder Lior Rafaelov (1/0) is still sidelined with injury, same as central defender Stefano Denswil (3/0). Same as their opponents, they will also be lined up in a 4-3-3 formation with Vossen, Dirckx and Pereira as attacking trio.
Lokeren is strong at home, but no doubt that the players of Club Brugge still have a bit more quality. Neither of the sides have started the season as they wanted, so I believe that the game will be as offensive and open as possible. Both of the teams work much better in offense than they do in defensive lineup and the over goals option is a logical consequence of it here.
