Livorno vs Brescia by Enzo
After only two rounds played, Livorno remains the only team with 100% success and two victories since the beginning of the season. In the previous round, they won away from home against Como, in a game where the things actually didn't go that smoothly for them. Hosts were the ones who opened the lead in 14th minute via Sbaffo, while the visitors equalized just before the halftime whistle with a goal from Fedato.
Same player scored the winning goal in 65th minute with a penalty kick, while the players from Como were left playing with a man less in the same minute and struggled to keep the narrow defeat till the end, while Livorno had no big troubles keeping the lead. Coach Christian Panucci was satisfied after the match, saying that his players have worked well during the week, adding that they now need to remain down the earth despite two victories. He also added that the situation is good in the team and that positive results are coming as a result of very good work and determination during Summer. Central defender Emerson (2 matches in Italian Cup) and right winger Enej Jelinic (no performance this season) remain to be injured, while midfielders Mattia Aramu and Marco Biagianti both return into the lineup coming from injuries.
Brescia, on the other side, comes from a 2:2 home draw against Salernitana last weekend. It's a result from which the team can't be happy, as they had a player more in last thirty minutes, but still conceded equalizing goal six minutes before the full time whistle in quite unlucky way. They were actually down in the scoreline at the end of the first halftime, but managed to revert the result with two goals from Morosini in the second half.
Despite taking a lead ten minutes before the final whistle and a man more, they were unable to hold onto it and suffered equalizer. Coach Roberto Boscaglia said that the players now need to think what they can do in the next match and not to let be influenced with what happened in previous matches. He also added that he is happy with what the team showed in first two rounds, but added that they lack effectiveness, despite some steps forwards made from the team. Central defender Michele Somma (2 matches in Italian Cup) is injured, same as offensive midfielder Ismail H'Maidat and striker Giovanni Abate who played in first two rounds. On the positive side, defender Vincenzo Camilleri and striker Andrea Caracciolo are both back in the team.
Livorno has great quality in attack which they already showed with six goals scored in two matches and shouldn't encounter particular problems to break the defensive line of Brescia and secure their third victory. Guests will have hard time staying in the league, as they already deserved to relegate in previous season and probably will have hard time staying competitive here from the halftime already.
