Lincoln vs Notts County by Luke
Lincoln didn't manage to make a surprise last time out in 1/128 finals of English FA Cup, as the side suffered narrow 1:0 defeat away to AFC Wimbledon last Saturday evening. Overall, it was pretty muchh defensive game from both sides, as the hosts took the lead already in seventh minute, while the players of Lincoln simply failed to reply later on the during the match.
As for the League Two competition, the side comes from a goalless draw in front of own fans against Crawley Town ten days ago, as they failed to convert their ball possession in anything concrete in attack. As for the table, the team is now at ninth position with three points less than play-off placed Wycome and surely that part of their attention goes to League Two duties as well. As for the Checkatrade trophy, the side has two victories so far and remains favorite to progress further no matter what.
Notts County, on the other side, comes from a 4:2 victory at home over Bristol Rovers in 1/128 finals of FA Cup, as the side looked as slightly underdogs in this one and surely that the final result represent a positive surprise for their fans. Even though they were down 2:0 after only twelve minutes of play, the side managed to level up the result till the halftime with two goals from Yates, but continues in the same manner in second and reverted the scoreline completely, via Stead in 58th and Grant in sixth minute of additional time.
As for the League Two, the side managed to get a 3:0 home victory over Newport ten days ago, obviously showing that they are in a really good form at the moment. The side is now leading the table with just a point more than second placed Accrington and surely wants to hold that position for as long as possible, since they entered the season in a really good manner and surprised most of the fans with good performances early in the season since direct promotion surely wasn't their target before the season. As for the Checkatrade Trophy, they need a victory here in order to progress since oth Lincoln and Mansfield have three points more.
Lincoln is far away from a naive side, but I see them calculating much more here since they can progress easily with a narrow defeat as well. Both teams will rotate, but I believe the players of Notts County comes into this one being in way better momentum and yes, with a bit more of individual quality as well. I expect guests to put a real effort in order to progress further.
