Lillestrom vs Rosenborg by Isaiah
Lillestrom is in a really poor form at the moment, with exception of their victory over Stromsgodset 2:0 at home before two rounds. Apart from that, they count four defeats in last five matches and have dropped down to eleventh position, with only two points more than relegating placed Valarenga and simply needs to worry for now regarding their future.
Players of Lillestrom have suffered another defeat last weekend, as they couldn't do much more in away game to Aalesund being outplayed with a 2:0 result, losing the game completely fair. They were playing with only one target- to limit the offensive action of the opponent and were simply limited to a ultra-defensive mode. They did manage to do it in the first halftime, but two quick goals during the second half completely left them without response further on.
Icelandic technician won't be able to count at substitute goalkeeper Jacob Faye-Lund (4/0), but his absence doesn't affect the team. Central defender Frode Kippe (14/1) is also injured, while defender Michael Jakobsen (11/0) is also sidelined. Obvious problem in offense remains the fact that they sold Fred Friday to AZ Alkmaar. Home side should be playing in 4-4-1-1 formation with strker Knudtzon as their first offensive option.
Rosenborg continues to be the real boss for another year in the domestic league. Their current streak in the league is sixteen undefeated matches, having lost only the opening game. There's no doubt anymore that the players of Rosenborg have the most quality roster this season and it will be really quite a big surprise in case the team fails to get a new title.
They are having six points more than ODD, having also played a game less, so it's obvious that anything but the title will be shocking outcome for them. At the same time, the team has the best attack in the league and the best defense too, however - failed to obtain a victory in last two matches on the road. They were busy with a Champions League duty during recent midweeks, as the team suffered exclusion to Cypriot champions APOEL with three goals conceded in last minutes of the match.
They are excluded from Champions League and might be a bit down in morale, however at the same time, desperate to respond here and show all of their potential. First goalkeeper Andre Hansen (14/0) is sidelined and won't be playing here, while other goalkeeper, Alexander Lund Hansen (no performance till now) is also out. Forward Andreas Helmersen (no performance too) is also out. Rosenborg will most likely be fielded up in 4-3-3 formation with Lanlay, Gytkjaer and Helland as forwards.
Few players might be rested in the visiting team, but I have no doubts that the guests have what it takes to get the victory easily. Lillestrom is simply nowhere close to their quality and should be happy if they don't concede more than three goals.
