Lillestrom vs Molde
It seems that the break in the season came in the best possible time for Lillestrom. They had no victory in last seven rounds with three consecutive draws before the break, while they were also awaiting duties in the Europa League.
Their poor form continued at European stage too, since the side suffered heavy and disappointing 4:0 loss on the road to LASK Linz in the second qualifying rounds in the first leg. Unfortunately for them, they have also suffered 1:2 defeat in front of own crowd last Thursday afternoon. this way they disappointed once more and failed to improve at least a bit in front of own fans.
Austrian side was once again much more concrete as they took the lead in the 35th minute via Goiginger. Tetteh doubled up the lead in the 65th minute but must be said that Lillestrom looked better and had more chances created overall in that game. However, they only managed to reduce in the 79th minute via Olsen.
Back to domestic duties, the side stands at thirteenth position actually tied up with relegating placed Start and play-out ranked Stabaek. The side really needs to improve before it's too late and they get caught up in the relegation struggle.
Lars Mogstad Ranger and Sheriff Sinyan are both doubtful for this one coming slowly off from injuries, but they anyway didn't participate in the season.
Exactly the opposite could be said for Molde, as the team hit really fine form before the break. They come from three consecutive victories in Eliteserien, winning over Stabek 3:0, Brann 4:0 and 5:1 against Valarenga at home in the most recent game.
The side is now in the third position on the table having six points less than leaders from Brann and four points less than Rosenborg. During the pause, they were quite busy starting from the first round of the Europa League.
They faced up against Glenavon in the first round completely destroying the opponent in the second leg with a 5:1 victory despite their 2:1 loss at first. The second round saw them facing up against Albanian side Laci. The side convincingly won 3:0 at home in the first leg and their re-match was just a confirmation of their progress.
Thanks to goals from Aursnes (from the penalty kick) and Strand, they got 2:0 victory last Thursday evening. Surely that this matches used them to rotate the squad a bit and improve their form even further.
Midfielder Martin Ellingsen is doubtful due knee injury, but anyway without performance so far.
Away from home, Molde didn't impress so much, but given the circumstances that they have much more quality looking individually and that they are in far better form, there's only one logical choice for this one.
