Leverkusen vs Metalist by DamirJ
Leverkusen is coming from a 3:0 defeat at Dortmund last weekend in the Bundesliga, loss that was expected for most of the fans, but worrying part should be the way they have lost the game. Although they entered the game being aggressive team, they lacked creativity and most important, lacked final effort to score the goal.
As said, the manner they lost is the problematic thing, as the board criticised the players for lacking the effort during the derby game. Surely, something that the team of their quality can improve in the next weeks, starting from this game. They are playing against Ukrainian side they know very well, as they have already played last year against them, winning 4:0 in Ukraine and 2:0 in Germany, reaching the quarter finals of Europa League. Only goal for this game, as the coach said, should be improvement in comparison to Dortmund's game last weekend - improvement that should also bring their win here. German side will be boosted with the return of central midfielder Rolves, just as offensive midfielder Renato Augusto who should play his first match this season.

Metalist, on the other side, is coming from a 4:0 home win over Vorskla in the Ukrainian championship. After that win, they occupy fourth position at the table and although it could be said that they are in good form, they are clearly far away from the very best clubs in Ukraine.
They are currently ten points away from the league leaders and it's already almost sure that they have lost the Champions League place race being already left out from the race with significant points difference. However, strong performance with a 4:0 win last weekend helped them to forget 1:2 loss to Volyn the weekend before. The Ukrainian side is till chasing it's first win over teams from Germany as they have 0-1-2 record so far.
Leverkusen will be trying to bounce back after poor display away to Dortmund. With two important players coming back in the squad, it should be much easier for them. Metalist is good team, but they still lack experience playing against European level teams, just as they are clearly somehow away from the best Ukrainian teams. Something similar to 2:0 victory last year is expected here.
