Leuven vs Waasland Beveren by Isaiah
Leuven got an important point away to Lokeren last week, despite the fact that they were back to score twice, they found the mentality to score a few minutes before full time and got the draw with the score of 2-2.
Last Wednesday they lost away to Oostende for the Cup (2-1), playing early with ten men, and was excluded from the rest of the Cup, in a game that they showed again lot of defensive weaknesses. Anyway, the administration of Leuven still supports the coach and players, and they are looking forward to win over Waasland Beveren tonight.
Experienced striker Bjorn Ruytinx is still out injured, the same goes on for left midfielder Emmerik de Vriese and right back Frederik Boi. Highly questionable is the involvement of winger Ibou (6 games, 5 goals scored) and main midfielder Evariste Ngolok (7 games / 1 goal). Leuven will be lined with their classic 4-4-2, striker duo will be Derick Ogbu and Thomas Azevedo.
Waasland Beveren avoided the defeat too, in the home match against Lierse, scoring three minutes before full time (1-1). However, they could claim the victory as they had full control of the match to the most duration of the game, according to match reports, but encountered many problems to break the solid defense of Lierse.
Midweek they qualified for the next round of the Cup, winning difficult away to Brussels in extra time (1-3, 1-1 regular match). There are no new problems with absences. Main defender Cedric D'Ulivo, and forwards Mohammad Ghadir and Sebastien Didier are all still injured. Waasland Beveren will be lined with 4-4-2, strikers will be Vito Plut and Barak Badash.
Both teams seems equal in general at the moment, and they will fight for their stay in division, but both of them showing lot of defensive weaknesses, and this game can't be the exception. I expect an open game as both wants the points tonight, and both teams to score is my bet.
