Lens vs Sochaux by Lucien
Lens did well last weekend to get a victory away from home against Red Star with a 2:3 result. However, things weren't that easy for them and the victory was actually earned in a bit lucky way too, since their hosts took the lead in 32nd minute with a goal from Ngamukol, while Bourigeaud leveled up in 51st minute.
Even though the players of Lens were better and created more chances, Red Star took the lead again in 80th minute via Chavalerin and it looked like they will celebrate unfair victory. However, visitors replied well, in last minutes of the game and managed to seal the victory in 87th minute via Habibou and Lopez in second minute of additional time. Lens is now third at the table and have just three points less than first and second placed sides, remaining in a must win situation in their promotional chase.
Sochaux, on the other side, suffered narrow 1:0 defeat last Friday evening against Le Havre in front of own fans, which was their third consecutive game without a victory after two consecutive draws. Only goal was scored via Gimbert in 42nd minute of the match for visitors, in a match that wasn't specially interesting.
Guests had a bit more of the ball possession, while the hosts threatened more in the second halftime but without changing the scoreline. Sochaux is now at eleventh position at the table with thirty-eight points earned, which is eight less than promotional position, but also eleven more than firstly relegating worried side Orleans. Away from home they were having quite decent record so far with five victories in the progress. Forward Goran Karanovic (8/2) remains absent due injury.
Easy or difficult, I see home team prevailing here. They looked really determined to get victories in last couple of weeks and if the team continues in similar approach this should be their victory. Odds close to 2.00 are more than worth a shoot.
